Faith Formation
BAPTISM (PREPARATORY CLASSES)
The class is designed for those preparing for “infant” Baptism, which goes up until age 7 in the Catholic Church (children older than that usually go through a modified form of the RCIA). The class is designed for parents, to give them some background on the history and symbolism of the sacrament so they will feel comfortable with the ceremony as well as the responsibility of raising their child in the Catholic faith. Godparents are encouraged to attend; those who are required to attend a class in order to be godparents at another parish may fulfill this requirement through participation in the class.
Meetings: Classes are held 4-5 times a year, as needed. They are usually on a Sunday from 12:00pm—1:30pm in the Youth Room.
