Holy Orders
Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time; thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. In the ecclesial service of the ordained minister, it is Christ himself who is present to his Church as Head of his Body, Shepherd of his flock, high priest of the redemptive sacrifice, Teacher of Truth. This is what the Church means by saying that the priest, by virtue of the sacrament of Holy Orders, represents Christ in the Church. If you would like to discern the call to priesthood or religious life, please call the pastor at 503-742-8207.
Although women in the Catholic Church do not receive Holy Orders there are many women called to a religious life. If you are one of those women who feel they are being called click below to go to the Archdiocese of Portland's site "Religious Orders of Women serving in the Archdiocese of Portland."
